The Licensed Practical Nurse is an integral member of the health care team. LPNs work under the direction of the physician, dentist, or RN in providing nursing care to clients.
The Practical Nursing Program associated with FCCTC is a one-year program that provides the theory and clinical learning experience to prepare the graduate to take the licensing exam. Successful completion of the exam will result in receiving a license to practice Practical Nursing. Two classes are enrolled each year – one in February and one in August. The Program consists of three levels which initially provide the foundation for practice and becomes increasingly more complex to prepare the graduate for entry level practice. The Program is an all day program Monday through Friday. Class hours are usually 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Clinical hours are 6:45 a.m. through 2:45 p.m.
