Anticipated Vacancy: AUTOMOTIVE COLLISION REPAIR INSTRUCTOR (CIP 47.0603)

The Franklin County Career & Technology Center (FCCTC) is seeking a full-time Auto Collision Repair Instructor for secondary education. FCCTC has students from 10th-12th grade within the six sending school districts of Franklin County.

This role is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in automotive collision repair, helping students develop the technical skills and safety practices required for success in the industry. The Auto Collision and Repair program teaches students how to use technical skills to repair damaged vehicles. Students learn to replace interior panels, repair dents and fenders, prepare surfaces for paint, and refinish vehicles through a variety of projects. They also build industry knowledge through hands-on experience working on school and customer vehicles. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum four years of full-time wage-earning work (auto collision repair) experience is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern repair techniques and equipment. Strong communication and instructional skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching or training experience in a technical or vocational setting.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., I-CAR, ASE).
  • Experience working with students of diverse skill levels.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess a teaching certification or who have passed the Occupational Competency Exam. Selected candidate must be able to take classes toward their CTE Instructor certification and pass the Occupational Competency Exam.

Starting pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year based on experience/education.

ADULT EDUCATION OPENINGS

Adult Education positions are offered on a part-time, as-needed basis to support and meet student enrollment and program demands. 

Pay upon experience and student enrollment: $35.00-$40.00/hr

Electrical Instructor: 

Candidate should have at least 4 years of electrical work experience. The candidate will be responsible for delivering material related to residential electricity and commercial electricity. Classes meet twice weekly and are held in the evenings.

36 hour course: Residential Electricty (home wiring)

This course will address basic knowledge of wiring receptacles, single pole switching, 3-way switching and 4-way switching. The class will also cover branch circuit requirements, wiring techniques, electrical terminology, panel boxes, 220 lines and lighting.

36 hour course: Commercial Electricty

This is a continuance of the Residential Electricity where students will learn to use electrical test equipment, terminology, maintenance, conduit bending, series and parallel circuits, wiring diagrams, motor controls, motors, electrical code, breakers, and troubleshooting.

 

HVAC Instructor: 

Candidate should have at least 4 years of HVAC work experience. The candidate will be responsible for delivering material related to HVAC systems. Classes meet twice weekly and are held in the evenings.

24 hr course: Refrigeration and A/C Basics

Troubleshoot and repair of refrigeration-based processing equipment. Attendees will be introduced to refrigeration, temperature, humidity, and conduction of heat. Also includes an overview of other HVAC Systems.

9 hr course: EPA 608 Certification

Cover the proper handling methods for refrigerants, review of the EPA 608 regulations. Includes proctoring certification exam.

 

CNA Instructor:

Candidate should have at least 2 years nursing experience including 1 year of long-term care work experience as an LPN or RN. The candidate will be responsible for delivering material related to the Certified Nurse Aide program. Candidate must also complete the Nurse Aid TTE certification to teach the program. (Certification paid by the school)

Class is 125 hrs and is 65 hours of classroom/lab instruction (2 weeks) and 60 hours of hands-on clinical experience (2 weeks). 

Clearances & Background Checks

Pennsylvania School Law requires that all applicants for employment in public and private schools, employees of independent contractors seeking business with public and private schools, and student teacher candidates undergo background checks if they will have direct contact with students. In addition, employment history reviews must be completed for all applicants seeking employment.

  • After a candidate is selected, they will be asked to complete or produce the Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check (Act 34), Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), Federal Criminal History Record Information (CHRI), Act 126 training documentation, physical, and TB test prior to their first day of work. An offer of employment is contingent upon submission of these items in compliance with the regulations of the Pennsylvania School Code of 1949, as amended. The following three background checks are required:

  1. Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check (Act 34)
  2. Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
