STUDENT SELECTION TIMELINE
CRITERIA
Applicants must have a 2.0 GPA or above and be passing all core subjects to qualify for admission and be interviewed. Selection is based on grades, attendance, and discipline, as well as an interview evaluation.
ENROLLMENT GUIDELINES
STARTING GRADE LEVEL
Students typically begin attending CareerTech in 10th grade, as the programs span three semesters.
CAN I ATTEND MORE THAN ONE PROGRAM?
Typically, students attend only one program because many of the certifications require a three-semester time frame to obtain.
WHAT IF I NEED HELP DECIDING WHAT PROGRAM TO CHOOSE?
WHAT IF THE PROGRAM IS FILLED?
You may choose to be put on a waiting list, choose another program, or withdraw from CareerTech.
I DID NOT GET SELECTED, NOW WHAT?
You may submit another online application next year.
I CHANGED MY MIND.
If you’ve completed an application but decide not to attend, please notify your high school counselor.
EARNING THE NECESSARY CREDITS FOR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION
Students attend one semester at CareerTech learning trade skills and the other semester at their high school to fulfill academic requirements.
FEES
Students do not pay tuition directly; instead, your school district covers approximately $8,000 per semester for your attendance. This is equivalent to receiving a $24,000 scholarship to support your career goals.
OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS
Students are required to purchase uniforms and some programs require a shop/lab kit.
PRIVATE, CHARTER, AND HOME-SCHOOLED STUDENTS
