Allied Health

The prevention, treatment, and management of illness and the protection of mental and physical well-being are services provided by health care professionals. The Allied Health program provides instruction in a variety of health-related occupations under the instruction of two Registered Nurses. Included are clinical experiences in health-related careers. There are multiple certifications available, with the opportunity to enter into high paying, entry level positions upon graduation, or pursue post-secondary education.

    • Enrollment is at the beginning of each semester to take one or more of the following courses in your CareerTech program. Must have a 2.0 GPA.

    NOCTI

    • Pass your written assessment to recieve your recommended credit waiver at the Awards Ceremony.
      • 3 credits – Recommended to be awarded in Health Assisting. 1 to 2 additional credits may be awarded based on successful completion of the performance component with the written proficiency exam.

     

     

  • PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

    • Proficient in math and reading comprehension.
    • Basic computer skills
    • Minimal absences
    • Scheduled home-based CTE days.

     

    UNIFORMS

    Professional Attire:

    • Black scrubs (shirt and pants) and Non-canvas, skid resistant shoes. (Not available from the school store).

     

     Teacher Directed Semi-Professional Attire: (For select Fridays and Special Activities)

    • CareerTech blue or gray t-shirt, zip fleece. These uniforms may be ordered online or purchased at the school store.
    • Jeans without holes and program approved shoes.

    Level 3 students have the potential to complete work-based learning through the cooperative education program.

Marla Moore

Ms. Moore is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Policy and Administration and an Associate degree in Nursing. She has over 25 years experience working as an RN in a wide variety of health care.
